Flux wins the Grand Designs Product of the Year Award!

YES! We got it. We just got amazing news from the UK that we won the Grand Design Product of the Year Award. We were chosen as the winner from over 1000 entries. Tom was there together with Nik, our local distributor for the UK (www.padhome.co.uk), to receive the award from the British 'face of design' Kevin McCloud.

Flux showcasing at Interieur 2010!

Flux will attend the Interieur 2010 Biennale in Kortrijk. This amazing biennial designer's fair in the west of Belgium is the meeting point for all things design from 15-24 October! Flux will be showcasing in TheYoungDesignersFair at the Underground section of the Kortrijk venue.

Just in: our mold will arrive in Holland in the third week of October. To ensure unlimited folding, we'll start with an extensive quality testing program aiming for first deliveries at the end of November!

Flux moving to Amsterdam!

In September Flux will move to Amsterdam to a fantastic office in “het Westerhuis”. In the former school a cultural flagship building has been realized, in which also top designer Marcel Wanders, owner of the Westerhuis has set up business.

From the 27th to the 31st of August Flux will be attending the Tendence trade fair in Frankfurt. Come visit us at our stand! (location: 11.0 D55). It will be a very exciting moment for us, especially because the first injection molded chairs will be ready just in time!

Today we officially signed the deal with the injection molder. Our mold will be produced in China and moved to the Netherlands late September. So all the chairs will still be produced in the Netherlands!

We are very happy to announce that Arno Ruijzenaars, Wiebe Teertstra and Leen van Hoogdalem, have invested in Flux. With their investment we can buy the injection mould needed to produce the chairs and even more important they are also nice guys who will be actively involved with Flux!
Flux wins the New Venture Businessplan contest

Flux has won the prestigious New Venture businessplan competition. We are the proud winners of a cheque of € 25.000, which we will use for further development. The guy on the left is Daco Lak and on the right is Bas van Nieuwkerk; great guys who were our coaches throughout the contest.
Flux presents the Flux chair at the 100% design fair in Rotterdam

Flux has shown the Flux chair concept to the public for the first time at the 100% design trade fair in the Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam. We have folded the chairs at least 500 times everyday. The attention and response we got was overwhelming! We also did a little folding contest: 4 seconds!
Flux wins the Philips Innovation Award.

Flux has won the Philips Innovation Award, the jury was especially impressed by the elegant simplicity and broad applicability of the design. A big compliment and also some more funding to realize our plans for the flux chair!
Flux wins businessplan contest at Delft University.

Because we are really serious about setting up a business for the Flux chair we've taken part in a course/contest from the TU Delft in cooperation with consultancy agency Roland Berger. We started with only a paper model of the chair. The Past 3 months we've been working hard on our businessplan and our chair and today we've been rewarded with the first prize!
Flux admitted to the YES Delft incubator

Flux has been admitted to YES (Young Entrepreneurs Society) Delft . From now on we will have our own office in the YES Delft incubator building in Delft!
